Since it’s the start of 2023, I thought it’d be fun to do 23 fun facts about me!
What do you do for a living?
I am a physician assistant that works for a technology healthcare company that is focused on reversing type 2 diabetes! And the best part of my job? I work from home!
If I wasn’t a PA, what would I do?
I recently went back to school to get my Master’s in Public Health. This degree could take me in so many places, but I’m most passionate about global health/humanitarian work and infectious disease.
Favorite Vacation?
This is a hard question, but two pop to mind first. 1) Relaxing: Cruising with my mom. 2) Adventure: Japan!
Cruising with my mom is the ultimate relaxing vacation. It’s the perfect mix of good company, good food, and good books (hopefully) + the beach. It’s all my favorite things with one of my favorite people. Plus, I’m a Royal Caribbean diamond member so, free drinks… Need I say more?
Japan was one of my favorite vacations that was adventurous. It was such a difficult trip to plan because there’s so much to see and do, but it was so much fun and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
How big is your family?
Fun Fact: I have no cousins! But I have a nice big, family. I have 3 brothers (and 3 sisters-in-law) and 7 nieces/nephews on my side. I have a brother/sister-in-law from Charles’ side of the family and they have 5 kids! So in total: 12 nieces & nephews!
Favorite Adult Beverage?
Margarita, on the rocks, with sugar! Yes, please…
Favorite Starbucks Drink
In the winter: Irish Cream Cold Brew. In the summer: Iced Shaken Espresso with vanilla and half&half or Chocolate Cream Cold Brew. Fun Fact: I hate hot coffee!
Morning or Night?
Oof… Neither?? I want to be a morning person, but I’m just not.. But I definitely am not a night owl, either!
Favorite Animal?
Sea Turtles!
Hair Color?
At the moment, dark brown. But, I love changing my hair color so who knows how long that will last..
Salty or Sweet?
Yes! I think that something sweet should be followed up by something salty. But I’d probably choose Sour Patch Kids over pretzels if someone forced me.
Android or Apple?
I am 100% an Android girl and will not go back to iPhone. However, my Macbook is better than PCs.
Are you named after anyone?
Yes! My middle name is Lynn and I’m named after my Aunt Lynn (my mom’s sister). I was almost named Galadriel (from Lord of the Rings) but my parents went with Bethany instead. Another fun fact: I saw the first LOTR movie in theater 9 times… I’m cool.
Favorite Season?
My favorite season is fall, but my favorite time of year is Thanksgiving to my Birthday (January 9). My love of fall really amplified when I moved to Colorado. It’s just so gorgeous. Check out my Vail in Fall post here!
Broken Bones?
Wanna hear a funny story? Remember when I went skiing recently and bragged about not breaking anything? Well…. apparently I spoke too soon. I took a fall near the end of day, and only felt some discomfort in my elbow, so I ignored it. Fast forward to this week and I still couldn’t straighten my arm, so I went to the orthopedic. Turns out I fractured my radial head. Good news though, no cast! Just physical thearpy.
Surgeries?
I’ve had 2! I had hip surgery in 2009. I tore the cartilage in my hip and had to have it repaired. Yup, ouch! During recovery, I unfortunately had a rare complication called Negative Pulmonary Pressure Edema and ended up in ICU for a few days. Very eventful in the worst way possible, but I recovered nicely. Second surgery was nice and simple though. Phew!
Favorite Bible Verse?
John 14:27. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”
More recently though I’ve been leaning on this verse: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (the song is also so good!)
Unexpected Talent/Hobby?
Sewing! I recently finished my second (and final) baby quilt and I’m pretty proud of myself!
Book you could keep re-reading?
I’ve read the Harry Potter books like 7 times…
Recommended Show?
If you’re a fan of Games of Thrones, you need to go watch The Last Kingdom on Netflix. Like, now. It’s so good and in my opinion, overall better than GOT.

Favorite Disney Character?
Rapunzel. Fun Fact: Charles and I danced to “I See the Light” from Tangled as our first dance.
White, Milk, or Dark Chocolate?
Dark chocolate!! I hate milk chocolate and will tolerate white, but I love dark!

Mediterranean Cruise!!
