It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year! One of my favorite things about the holiday season is Christmas movies. I just love the cheesiness, the love, and of course, the Christmas spirit! Butttttt, not all Christmas movies are good. So, I thought I’d round up my favorite 2022 streaming Christmas movies!
Netflix

The Noel Diary is a “story of a man who returns home on Christmas to settle his estranged mother’s estate. Once there, he discovers a diary that may hold secrets to his own past and of a beautiful young woman on a mysterious journey of her own.”
I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was a bit outside of the traditional Christmas movie plot, but that’s what I enjoyed most about it. My only complaint with this movie was the ending. Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely a “feel good” ending, but it could have used 1 or 2 additional scenes to really satisfy the watcher.
Honorable Mention: Falling for Christmas. Classic “Hallmark-style movie” starring Lindsay Lohan – a solid choice.
HBO Max

Holiday Harmony is about “a likeable and talented underdog [that] gets momentarily sidelined from chasing her musical dreams when her van breaks down in a welcoming small town just before Christmas.”
This one had all the feels. A young girl with no family, chasing her dreams, who finds a family in the most unexpected places. It has a bit of love, drama, humor, family, and of course, Christmas! Netflix has a somewhat similar movie about a famous singer falling in love with a local man, but this one had more small-town charm. If you like singing and Christmas, this movie is definitely one to watch.
Honorable Mention: A Hollywood Chrismas. A Christmas movie director living in her very own Christmas movie. Close call between these two movies and would recommend both if you’ve got the time!
Amazon Prime

Something From Tiffany’s “follows a woman as her life gets upended when an engagement ring that was for someone else leads her to the person she’s meant to be with.”
The description gives away the movie, but honestly, from a Christmas movie, would you expect anything less? This movie was based on a book (which I can’t believe I haven’t read) and was very cute. I would recommend trying out the book or just skipping straight to the movie this holiday season!
Honorable Mention: Honestly, Prime had slim pickings… “Your Christmas or Mine?” is really the only other 2022 original movie but I just couldn’t get into it.
Disney +

In all transparency, I have not watched this, and techincally this is a show, not a movie, BUT if I were to venture onto Disney +, this would be my choice. My friend watched it and said it was pretty good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orinigal Santa Clause movie growing up, and I love that Tim Allen is starring in it as well.
